WWI-Era Steamer Trunk
Manufactured: ~1918
Acquired: August 16, 2025

Donated by a family in Melbourne, Florida, this WWI-era steamer trunk is believed to have belonged to opera singer and wartime patriot Ernestine Schumann-Heink. With its reinforced corners and travel-worn handles, it evokes the transatlantic journeys of a bygone era. This trunk also came with 1970s newspapers packed inside.
